Whenever I miss the bus, I always wish I had the ability to catch up to it in style.
Very relatable and very well animated.
Music and audio was alright.

Jesus Christ. There goes a lot of ppl's childhood. xD
Hilarious work, some art and animations could be improved, but good pacing and decent use of audio cues.

Pretty engaging plot. Decent art & animations.
However I wish there was more SFX other than just looped music. Voice acting prob wouldn't be necessary since the visuals by themselves already do a good job at telling the story but, SFX like the cloth being pulled, or footsteps, or spaceship ambient sounds, or other little things like that would add a little more depth.
Can't wait to see more!

cecameron responds:

Thanks so much! There was some sfx for the cloth, but it does sound drowned out. I'll work on my audio skills in the future!

i haven't cried of laughter in a long time

Idk who's been sending you those messages or is giving you that impression, but I wouldn't focus on those people's "opinion" too much. Like you said, you had fun making this, and that's what counts.
If other people wanna be dicks about expressing their own opinion, it's probably because their either trying to mask their own insecurity, or they're literally too stupid to give any kind of constructive feedback (whether the feedback expresses why something is good or bad).
Keep practicing your craft, and one day you'll be able to show'em who's boss.

ThothyGoodneth responds:

Thank you for the very kind reply! It's just something that has haunted me since elementary school. It's kinda funny now. But yeah, even grown ass adults have done this. And it's also disturbing how, for many of them, their first reaction is to destroy it....tempted to see how I'd "react". lol

Well done! Voice acting needs little improvement though.
Excited to see the next episode.

Awesome animation, models, and pacing! However, I was hoping for more, not just because the animations and art were stunning, but I think the music builds up too quickly.

There probably wasn't a lot of room in this video to fit a proper musical build up, but if this video was maybe extended a little bit longer, and perhaps included a little bit of a fight scene (dwarves vs. troll/ogre) that never gets concluded, this would've made for a perfect trailer for this game.

There are a lot of trailers that set an example for incomplete fight scenes, and many of the good trailers end on a cliffhanger to entice the consumer/viewer to go purchase their product.

Well, that escalated quickly.
Music was great, art and animation was alright. Pretty good pacing overall though, I just don't really understand Larry's character. I know I probably shouldn't be trying to put logic to this but, just hear me out.

If Larry lost half of his body and was still "alive" enough to go searching for his legs, that'd make him kinda like a zombie, right? I was under the impression that he was. Anyway, if he's a lifeless zombie, how would he be able to lose his sense of life and then kill himself if he didn't have a sense of life in the first place? It probably would've worked better if Larry killed himself before he turned into a zombie, then became a soccer-loving zombie, and THEN went looking for his lost legs (after mysteriously losing them, or forgetting where he put them).

Also, why add speech bubbles in a silent movie? Why not just let Larry say what he needs to say during text caption scenes?

GillBates responds:

thanks) well, Larry didn't turn into a zombie) to be honest, there was nothing about the zombies in my movie) he just lost his legs and then he found them and that's it) but some time after that, he lost his sense of life, and that's the problem that he couldn't solve. you kinda overthinking about the plot) but jeez, i love your version of the plot. i feel kinda bad that i didn't thought about the zombies, your idea is great!

and about that speech bubbles...you know, i thought that it will be interesting cuz i never saw that in other movies. i just saw this cartoon exactly in that way, with all those speech bubbles like in comic book, you know. but anyway, i always trying to find something that would be different from other movies.

thanks a lot for your review))

A minute of my life wasted

Not really too sure what's going on in terms of story, but the animation was very well done. Good choice of music, even though it came from an outside source. Adrian von Ziegler makes awesome music.
You also seem to have a pretty good understanding of shading and lighting in your art, but the form of your characters, backgrounds, and other pieces aren't quite there yet. For example, the mountains didn't really look finished or iterated enough.
Also, the animated picture frames above the campfire could've had a better design that maybe had actual frames around them, or had like a sepia/black & white filter over them similar to Harry Potter's animated newspaper pictures.
I still enjoyed it none the less.

I like making art, designing games, dabbling in music and givin ppl 5stars.
